About

The Panda Cares First-Year Scholars Program is a one-time postsecondary scholarship( Up to $5,000)  and college success program for students in their first year of college. 


Eligibility

  • Minimum GPA: 3.00
  • Ethnicities: African American/Black, Asian Pacific Islander American. Hispanic American, American Indian - Alaska Native, Caucasian, Asian American/Pacific Islander
  • Residency Status: U.S. Citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident
  • Pursuing Classifications: College Freshman
  • College/Universities Groups: 2-Year Colleges, 4-Year Colleges

Application Deadline: 4/02/2025

Applications for the 2025 school year will be accepted from September 30, 2024 until April 02,2025.

Who should Apply?

The Panda Cares First-Year Scholars Program  is open to students enrolled as a full-time freshman in fall 2024, attending a U.S.-located, four-year or two-year, accredited college or university.

Selection Process

Applicants must submit the following in order to have a completed application considered:

* A personal statement to demonstrating their grit in their pursuit of a college education;

* A copy of their financial aid award letter from the college they are attending;

* A full copy of their most recent FAFSA student aid report;

* Final high school transcript with graduation date;

* A statement describing their extracurricular activities, honors and awards, and community service
