About

The Pierre and Tana Matisse Foundation is committed to supporting people from communities who directly experience the consequences of injustices and discrimination every day of their lives. Developed in partnership with UNCF, The Pierre and Tana Matisse Scholarship was created to provide renewable, need-based scholarships of up to $5,000 to Black, Latinx, and Indigenous juniors who are majoring in arts disciplines, who reside in or are permanent residents of one of the 5 boroughs of New York City, NY, and who are attending an accredited 4-year institution.

Applicants must reside in or be permanent residents of one of the 5 boroughs of New York City (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, or Staten Island). Applicants residing in cities adjacent or close to New York City will not be considered.
