A combination of agriculture and business, this program prepares students for a career in any business related to the industry, such as agricultural production, processing, distribution, or marketing. You can specialize in agricultural economics, agricultural education, business management, and more, enabling you to directly enter the workforce or seek graduate studies.
For students interested in the biology and practical methods of managing, caring for, and improving the lives of animals, the Animal and Veterinary Sciences program prepares you for your future career. With multiple options that will give you hands-on experience to work with livestock, poultry, companion animals, and more, you can directly enter the field or pursue continuing education.
This program combines a variety of natural sciences to help students understand the environment and its impact on humans, animals, plants, and other creatures. If you have a passion for improving the world around you, The Environmental, Natural Resources and Plant Sciences B.S. degree program offers options in Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Natural Resources, Plant and Soil Sciences, Horticulture, Forestry and Wildlife/Fisheries.
This program explores how chemistry, biology, and other sciences are used to study the nutritional content of food, how it can be improved, and how it is developed and distributed. The Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences offers B.S. degrees in Food Science, Nutritional Science, a Didactic Program in Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, and dual degrees in Food Science & Biology or in Nutritional Science & Biology to prepare you for a future in the food science industry.
This program enhances the environmental, social, and economic benefits from the forest resources of Alabama through expanded education of undergraduate and graduate students, collaborative research programs, and technology transfer.
Learn to employ cutting-edge tools in molecular biology such as gene transfer and genomics to develop improved strains of sweet potato and peanut with enhanced protein content and virus resistance, while expanding knowledge of the genetic architecture of peanut, sweet potato and cowpea.
Our purpose is to carry on the legacy of George Washington Carver through continued agricultural research that can be accessible to all. Now, we continue to explore areas of plant systems, animal systems, food and nutrition, and more as we expand our research efforts.
This project explores the collection, analysis and interpretation of data to be used to plan dietary intervention programs that promote health throughout the life cycle. It also develops, tests, and disseminates food and nutrition education activities and materials aimed at decreasing CVD and CHD in target populations.
The current focus of this program is hydroponic production of salad crops, waste recycling on mission, and pursuing commercialization on earth of products already developed for space. The current two main research teams: Food Crop and Controlled Environment Systems and Food Processing and Product Development.
This program enhances the mission of Tuskegee University as a Land-Grant Institution through having a significant contribution in the area of goat research, and it plans to extend research activities that encompass all areas of goat production to improve client skill levels and meet the needs of the community.
A 2-week residential program for high school students currently in grades 9-11 to create awareness of educational opportunities available in Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics (STEAM) and related areas through hands-on research, leadership development and personal enrichment activities.
A 1-day program for high school students to engage with local leaders & experts on critical global challenges, participate in hands-on activities, and explore exciting ways to make a difference in Alabama and beyond. Participants qualify for access to all-expenses-paid international internships and paid summer research or policy placements.
A 6-day residential summer program at Camp Chandler for students entering grades 5-9. Students will engage in many hands-on activities to expand their mind, body and soul. Topics may include Money Management, Culinary, Agriculture, Water Quality and Yoga.
FASTREC is an 8-week summer residential program for high school graduates. MITE I, II and MITAS are 1-week residential programs for high school students. These programs are sponsored by the College of Engineering (COE) for future engineers and aviation scientists.
A 2-week summer program for high school students aged 14-17 to further understand the importance of professionals in natural resources sciences, including forestry, wildlife, fisheries and aquatics. Program sponsored by CAENS.
A 4-week non-residential program for rising 9th-11th Graders funded by NSF and designed to promote interest in computer science for minorities and provides lectures on basic computer concepts including software engineering, network security, and computer hardware as well as guest speakers and exciting group projects.
A 1-week residential program for High School students sponsored by TSACS. This program provides prospective students a glimpse into the professional side of architecture and construction management while also exposing them to the educational, time management, and social aspects of college life.
A 3-week non-residential, free summer STEM Enrichment program for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students that includes meals, snacks, transportation, program, and learning materials, in addition to a stipend for scholars who successfully complete the program.
A 1-week residential program for students entering grades 9-12 designed to introduce minority students to veterinary medicine. Participants attend stimulating academic classes, participate in hands-on activities and laboratory exercises, prepare presentations, engage in stimulating discussions, and take part in field trips.
A paid internship program for current college students focused on increasing the number of future socially and politically aware federal employees, financially astute agricultural/food/fiber entrepreneurs, and agriculturally aware activists and policy advocates.
When I toured Tuskegee, I knew that I wouldn't be just another number in the system – I could see that the faculty and staff at CAENS were authentic and took the time to get to know their students and truly guide them in their respective interests. They made me feel like I was already a Golden Tiger, and I knew I had found my family.
It's a dream come true for me to work here, knowing that learning is a lifelong experience and that I’m able to show students that their journey is just beginning. We have prepared them to be world changers, and they have to continue to work as hard as they did while they were students. And I have confidence that they will.
